You will be talking to Joan. I'm the business and operations manager at Lucas Farms. We are interested in direct sales to consumers as well as partnerships or forward-contracting for calves.

My brother Don, owner with his wife Anna, and I often discuss the best way to feed our calves for a consumer market -- it always comes down to feeding what consumers want. the issue is unresolved, because we don't know what consumers generally want, but we are intrigued by the idea of custom feeding to address specific requirements -- on a small scale of course, because we also want to continue a balanced environment on the farm. e-mail us if you are inspired!

Angus-Gelbveigh calves will grow on grass and milk at Lucas Farms all summer, for weaning and sale in late fall and early winter.
